Daily Sheepshead Puzzle

Three card-play decisions a day, the same three for everyone: one easy, one medium, one hard. Pick your card, then see what every card in your hand was worth and why. A new set comes out at midnight Central time.

How the puzzles are made

Every puzzle comes from a simulated deal, never from a real player’s hand, and shows only what you could see at the table: your cards, every card played so far, who picked, the partner card or called ace, and, if you are the picker, your own bury. Each legal card was then played out over thousands of possible deals of the cards you cannot see. A position became a puzzle only when one card came out clearly best every time. “Points a hand” is what a card is worth on average at a table playing for one point.

Some answers will surprise you, and that is the point. If one looks wrong, tell us from the table with the bug report button and we will check it the same way.
